When you create a Sybase Replication Agent instance, you must specify a client socket port number for the instance administration port. Client applications use this port number to connect to the Sybase Replication Agent instance.
You must specify a port number that does not conflict with any port numbers already in use on the Replication Agent host machine.
If you change the value of the admin_port parameter with the ra_config command, the new value is recorded in the configuration file immediately, but you must shut down and restart the Sybase Replication Agent instance to make the new port number take effect.
After you change the value of the admin_port parameter with the ra_config command, the next time you log in to the Replication Agent administration port, you must use the new port number.
