Running an ASE User-Defined Function

Run an ASE user-defined function without invoking a launch configuration. Running a user-defined function allows you to run and obtain SQL results from the database.

Prerequisites

Before you can run a user-defined function, save or deploy it to a database.

  1. In the Databases folder in Enterprise Explorer, under the database connection profile, expand the Databases folder, expand the tree for a database, and then expand the tree for the appropriate schema owner.
  2. Expand the User Defined Functions folder, right-click the user-defined function, and choose Run.
  3. (Optional) If the user-defined function includes parameters, modify the parameter values.
  4. Click OK to run the function.

SQL Results view displays the status of the run instance, the execution details, and returns result sets and server messages, if any.
