Setting UDDI Registry Profiles Preferences

Use UDDI Registry Profiles preferences to set up templates for UDDI registries.

UDDI registry templates created here are displayed in the Commonly Used Registries menu when you or other users create a UDDI Registry connection profile.

  1. Select Window > Preferences from the main menu bar. The Preferences dialog box opens.
  2. In the left pane, navigate to Sybase, Inc > UDDI > Registry Profiles.
Table 1. Registry profiles preferences settings
    Field Description
Registry Name Enter the name of the UDDI provider, for example, XMethods.
Inquiry URL Enter the URL used to connect to the UDDI registry for searching, for example, http://uddi.trysybase.com/uddi/inquiry.
Publish URL Enter the URL used to connect to the UDDI registry for posting services, if applicable, for example, http://uddi.trysybase.com/uddi/publish.
User ID Enter the UDDI server login you received when you applied for access to this UDDI registry, for example, usr7421.
Password Specify the password you received when you applied for access to this UDDI registry.
Test Inquiry URL Connection Validates the Inquiry URL by attempting to connect to the server.

If the message Ping Succeeded appears, the connection is working. If an error appears, check the URL or contact the UDDI administrator.

Test Publish URL Connection (Optional, only for users with publishing rights) Validates the Publish URL by attempting to connect to the server.

If the message Ping Succeeded appears, the connection is working. If an error message appears, it means you are not allowed to publish services to this UDDI registry. If you believe this is incorrect, contact the UDDI administrator.

New Profile Creates and saves a blank UDDI registry profile named New Registry Profile Name.
Save Profile Updates the selected UDDI registry profile with your edits.
Delete Profile Deletes the currently selected UDDI registry profile.
  3. Click OK.
