The uninstaller allows you to remove some or all of the Sybase
Developer Edition server features from the installation directory.
PrerequisitesÂ
Before beginning the uninstallation process, Sybase recommends that
you:
- Shut down all Sybase
products.
- Move any log, database,
or user-created files that you want to keep from the installation directory to
another location.
Note: You do not need to save or move your project
resource files. By default, all project files are automatically saved to the
following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your log in
name>\workspace
-
Start the
InstallShield wizard.
- From the Windows
Start menu, select
.
- Select
Sybase Developer Edition Servers, and
click
.
The UninstallShield Welcome window appears.
-
To initiate the
uninstallation process, click
Next in the Installer Welcome window.
-
Select the
components that you want to remove, and click
Next.
-
Review the list of
components to be removed, and click
Uninstall to remove the selected
components.
A status bar appears recording the progress of the uninstall.
Note: If you receive this error message during uninstallation, you can disregard it.
%SYBASE&\Uninstaller\EAServer refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.
-
When this message
appears, click
Finish to complete the uninstall:
The InstallShield Wizard has successfully uninstalled Sybase
Developer Edition Servers.
NextÂ
After the uninstallation is complete, the following directories
remain:
-
\DevRuntimes
-
\InstallLogs
-
\Uninstallers
Review the log files once the uninstallation process is complete. You
can manually delete these files or move them to another directory.
The uninstallation process does not remove the Sybase Central
component as other Sybase products may be registered to this plug-in
installation.
The uninstallation process does not remove user-created projects.
Note: If you attempt to delete the installation directory and
receive a message from the operating system that states that the files are too
long, move the directory to the root of your local directory and then delete
it.
