An application client is a standalone Java application that uses the EJB client interface to invoke components on a server (target runtime) and is run by the server's application client container.
Supports the J2EE application client model. This model simplifies the deployment of standalone EJB client applications by allowing you to configure the client's component references, database connection references, and environment properties in the deployment descriptor.
