Configuring the Java Project Nature

You can configure the Java nature in non-Java projects.

The Java nature allows the Java Builder to run in the project, automatically compiling Java source files and immediately alerting you of syntax or build problems.

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator, right-click the project and select Properties.

    The Properties dialog opens.

  2. Select Project Natures.
  3. Select Java if it is not already selected.
  4. Click OK.
  5. (Optional) Configure Java source folders for the project.

By default, the Java source folder is the project root directory. Adding a separate source folder helps you keep source files separated from unrelated project files.

  6. (Optional) Configure the library search path to specify the location of classes and JAR files required to compile and run your source files.
  7. (Optional) Configure resource filters to specify what file types are copied from your source folders to the runtime build of the project.
