Troubleshooting Service Development Errors

Problem: Detecting service implementation problems that occur during service development.

Solution: Do the following:

  1. Open these views:

    • Problems view – shows you the location and severity of errors in your design.

    • Tasks view – shows you a list of items required to complete the development of this service.

  2. Consult these views periodically and before packaging your service.

    Note:

Occasionally, the tooling will also display a window with an error message. The details of this error can be found in the <installation directory>\Sybase\WorkSpace\Eclipse\workspace\.metadata\.log file.

Problem: The Problems view continues to report a problem after you have researched the issue and either corrected the problem or determined that the issue reported is in error.

Solution: Cleaning the project discards all build problems and build states, resulting in the project being rebuilt from scratch.

To clean a project:

  1. Select Project > Clean from the main menu bar. The Clean dialog box appears.

  2. Select Clean All Projects or Clean Projects Selected Below and select one or more projects to be cleaned.

  3. Click OK.
