Securing an Outbound SOAP Service

You can secure a new or existing outbound SOAP Service.

  1. Open the SOAP service.

    The Service editor displays.

  2. Go to the Connection Properties page of the Endpoint wizard and choose one of the following:
    Option Description
    For a new SOAP service Define the endpoint now.
    For an existing SOAP Service Open the Endpoint wizard.
  3. Add Security Credentials to the service or the WSDL.
    Option Description
    Service security Specify the user name and password to authorize access to the service.
    WSDL security Specify the user name and password to authorize access to the WSDL.
  4. Click Finish.

The outbound SOAP service requires authorization and authentication of the user.
