Adding a Service Operation to a Message Service

A message service must include one operation, but can include many operations, based on its implementation.

As part of developing a message service, you must edit the default operation, and you can add other service operations to the message service interface as needed. Each service operation describes an action that is supported by the service. All operations for message services are one-way operations. The operation parameter type is set to Input.

  1. Select the operation in the service interface diagram.
  2. (Optional) To make the operation visible or non-visible, right-click on the operation and select either Set Visible or Set Invisible.

    The visibility setting changes to the opposite of its existing setting.

  3. Click OK.
  4. In the service diagram, right-click the interface and select Add Operation.

    The service operation appears in the service interface diagram.
