Example XPath Expression for a Single-Rule Expression with a Condition

Create a single-rule expression using the text-based XPath Editor.

This example procedure assumes the following are defined in the business process:
  • An interface variable of complexInput
  • A business process variable of level2
  • A single-rule activity

  1. Open the business process design canvas.

  2. Expand the Properties section.

  3. Expand the Business Process Variables section and expand all categories.

  4. Expand complexInput in the Interface Variables category to display all levels.

  5. Drag level2 from the Business Process Variables section to the XPath edit box in the Properties section.

  6. Define the single-rule activity:
    1. Select the Single-rule activity on the canvas.
    2. In the XPath edit box, position the cursor where you want to insert functions or operators.
    3. Right-click the XPath expression and select Node Set Functions > namespace-uri.
    4. Edit the function to remove the error marker that appears to the left of the expression.

  7. Save the business process service.
