Creating a Database Service from a Stored Procedure

As an alternative to creating a database service to which you add stored procedures, you can derive a database service directly from a stored procedure. Optionally, you can create a Sybase WorkSpace project in which to locate your service. In Enterprise Explorer, select the stored procedure from which you want to create a service.

  1. Right-click the procedure and select Create Service from the context menu.
  2. Enter or select an existing project folder name and click Next.

Modify the default name if there is a name conflict.

  3. In the Service Information frame, enter a service name, specify Database as the user-defined category, optionally provide a description of the service, and click Next.
  4. Check the stored procedure you want to expose as an operation in the service, and click Next.
  5. Click Finish.
