Sybase Search Service

Create Sybase Search service as a Web service and use the Search specific WSDL document.

Sybase Search is an efficient solution for searching structured and unstructured information, regardless of format and the language.

You can create a Sybase Search service as a Web service in WorkSpace that allows you to discover existing Web services in UDDI registries or other locations. You can then deploy this Sybase Search service independently or as a part of a composite business process service.

The Sybase Search service connects to the Sybase Search server and queries through volumes of structured and unstructured information stored in your organization’s enterprise network drives, databases, intranets, and the Internet. You can run a Sybase Search service as a SOA component exposed over SOAP in a WorkSpace business process or as a Web service.

For example, a human resources (HR) department in an enterprise may need to access latest resumes residing in its database and file management systems. You can implement this as a Search service, and make it available to the HR system.
