Checking Clustering Requirements

Service clustering has prerequisites. Check that you meet these requirements before beginning.

  1. Check that you have the correct installation of Service Container and EAServer. The directory structure you install into must be consistent across all nodes. You must have one production grade installation of Service Container 1.2 with its supporting EAServer application server.
  2. Ensure you have an EAServer for each clustering node and that they are installed on separate hosts.
  3. Identify one of these hosts as the primary host. This machine will also host the SQL Anywhere database for version 5.5 of the Service Container runtime.
  4. (Optional) If you require clustered HTTP service support:
    • Install Version 2.2.0 of the Apache HTTP server.
    • Enable EAServer Web Server Redirector support.
