ASE Execution Plan View Options

Set ASE execution plan view options to specify defaults for viewing ASE query plans.

Property	Description
Show Plan While Executing SQL Statements	Show the query plan in the Execution Plan view while executing SQL statements, for text plans only. You see actual statistics as the query executes. For graphic plans, the query must execute to show the plan. Whether you select this option or not, you can get an execution plan from the SQL Editor with estimated statistics.

Property	Values	Description
Graphics Plan	Selected, Unselected	Displays the execution plan in graphic format, like Interactive SQL. This is the default for Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.x. This property is not available for Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.x.
Text Plan	Selected, Unselected	Displays the execution plan in text format, like `showplan`. This property is available for Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.x and 15.x.
