Viewing the Database Definition Language for a Table

Use the DDL page of the Table Schema editor to view the DDL for a current table. This is a read-only page. You can copy the DDL to the Windows clipboard and paste it into the SQL File Editor. You can also save the DDL to an external file.

Prerequisites

Open the table in the Table Schema Editor.

  1. From the Table Schema Editor, select the DDL page.

The DDL page displays the DDL of the table in a read-only view. When you edit the table on other Table Schema pages and then return to the DDL page, the definition of the table is regenerated and the DDL page displays the updated SQL statements.

  2. To copy the DDL to the Windows clipboard, highlight the statements that you want to copy, right-click and select Copy.

The statements are copied to the Windows clipboard and available for you to paste into the SQL File Editor.

  3. To save the DDL to an external file, right-click and select Save As.

You can specify a file name and where to save the file.
