Filtering and Sorting Table Data

Sort or filter the data displayed in the Referenced Tables view and in the Table Data editor.

Filtering and sorting criteria apply only to the environment where you enter them. For example, if you sort a table by city in Referenced Tables and open that table (or have it open already) in Table Data editor, the sort by city does not affect the display in Table Data editor.

  1. Double-click a table in the Referenced Tables view. The Table Data Filter opens.
  2. Specify filtering options.
    To Do this
Columns Select the columns that you want to display. Use Select All, Deselect All, and Invert Selection to respectively display all columns, no columns, or the inverse of the selected columns.
Where clause Click Where and enter a where clause, if desired.
Order by clause Click Order by and enter an order by clause, if desired.

You must enter the where or order by clause manually. If you get the error Column 'value' not found be sure you entered the selection criteria correctly, enclosing character data in single quotes.

  3. Click OK.

The table displays in the Table Data editor with your filtering criteria applied.
