An event is a change in the state of your database resulting from activities like updates to tables or the creation of functions. An event may be monitored or specified as the trigger condition for a system task.
An event is specified with a corresponding event handler, which is an operation or set of operations triggered in response to the event. Event handlers are used to improve the security and safety of data and to ease administration.
