Setting Order By Properties

Specify sort criteria for the Order By operator.

  1. Double-click an Order By operator The Order By Properties dialog appears.
  2. (Optional) Edit the Name and Description for this operator.
  3. Specify the sort criteria by editing the columns displayed. In the Order By Properties dialog, you list the columns from the input that the operator will use to sort the incoming rows. If you choose to sort by multiple columns, Sybase Data Federation sorts by the first column first; then, within the rows where that column’s value is the same, it sorts by the second column, and so on. Each column can be sorted in either ascending or descending order.
  4. Click OK to save the information and close the dialog.
