Input Source Parameter Mapping: Web Services

If the input source has parameters, you must map them to global view model parameters. Perform the steps in this topic to map a web service parameter.

Prerequisites

Complete the basic parameter mapping steps in the parent task.

Perform this task in the Web Service Parameter Values dialog; this dialog appears automatically if you select to map a web-service-based value in the Input Source Parameter Properties dialog. (The type appears as “AROM Value.”)

For many parameters, you can simply enter expressions in the individual fields. Some more complicated structures have additional controls.

  1. For simple web service parameters, type the desired values into the fields.
  2. For more complex structures, perform the desired action based on the following selections:
    • Click Add to add a new element to an array within the complex parameter.

    • Click Remove next to an array element to remove it from the array.

    • If the parameter is defined so that null is a valid value for one of its fields, there is a Null checkbox next to it. Select this checkbox to pass the value null instead of typing an expression.

  3. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog.

When you’ve mapped all input source parameters, you’re ready to add operators to your view model.
