Add a parameter to synchronize and refresh client data.
Both parameters and attributes are used to refresh and synchronize data from Unwired Server to a mobile device.
| Parameter purpose | Description |

| Data refresh (playback) | If you define a parameter with Filter by unselected, the parameter is used only as a data refresh parameter, for example, to refresh the data if it is out of sync with the back-end data source, and does not filter returned data. |
| Synchronization | If you select Filter by, the parameter is a sync parameter as well. That is, it synchronizes data with cached Unwired Server data, and filters the data based on the Filter by parameter, for example, a personalization key value. |
