Starting and Stopping the Agent Manually

Use the Services dialog in the Control Panel to start and stop the agent service. If the agent does not start automatically, manually start the agent. The agent must be running for Sybase Control Center to run.

The agent provides runtime services to manage, monitor, and control distributed Sybase resources. This functionality makes the agent critical to the proper functioning of Sybase Control Center and its product consoles.

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Click Administrative Tools > Services .
  3. Locate Sybase Unified Agent.

    If the service is running, the status column displays Started.

  4. To start or stop the agent, right-click the agent and choose the appropriate Start or Stop command.
