Troubleshooting Viewing the Device Application on the Simulator

Orientation for BlackBerry Storm does not refresh

Problem: When orientation is switched from portrait to landscape, the application does not refresh and keeps displaying in portrait mode.

Workaround: The device application is compiled with the BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1 and running on a 4.7 OS device, so the BlackBerry Storm automatically switches to compatibility mode, which causes a keyboard to display. To turn off compatibility mode:

1. On the BlackBerry Storm Simulator, navigate to Options > Advanced Options > Applications .
2. From the list of applications, select the device application.
3. Go to the menu and select Disable Compatibility Mode.
4. Restart the Simulator.

   After restarting the Simulator, the keyboard will not display but a Show/Hide keyboard menu option is available.
