Configuring Push Notification Settings

Configure push settings to determine how to receive notifications of data changes.

Prerequisites 

The device application must be started, and the device application must be utilizing the Push Settings stock screen.

  1. From the Applications menu, open the device application for which you want to configure the push notification settings and click the Menu key bb_app_button on the BlackBerry Simulator.
  2. From the menu, select Push Settings.
  3. In the Push Settings screen, select from these options and enter the required information:
    Option Description
    E-mail Push Notification Enter the e-mail address where you want to receive push notifications. This is typically the e-mail address on which your BlackBerry receives e-mail.
    HTTP Push Notifications Enter:
    • MDS Server – the domain name on which the MDS server is running.
    • MDS Port – the port number on which the MDS server is listening for connection requests.
  4. Click the Menu key bb_app_button and select Save from the menu.
