Creating Image References

Use the Images dialog to create new, user-defined image references to associate with controls.

  1. Right-click in any page (except Introduction) of the Device Application Designer and select Image References.
  2. In the Image References dialog, click New.
  3. In the Images dialog, enter:
    Property Description
    Name The name for the image.
    File Location The file location of the image. Choose from:
    • Workspace Location – brings up a file selection dialog that shows only the projects and folders of your current workspace. This is useful for source code control versions since the images always have the same relative path in the same projects as the Device Application Designer.
    • Desktop Location – brings up the normal file selection so you can select any file on your machine.
    File Name The name given to the file name named in the COD file. This name is the reference point for the image from the COD code.
    Note: All images are copied into the same folder on the client COD, so the name must be unique across all images.
    Description A user-defined description for the image.
  4. Click OK.
