Creating a Database Connection Profile

Use the Enterprise Explorer to create and manage database connection profiles from a central location.

  1. In the Enterprise Explorer, right-click Databases and select New.
  2. On the Wizard Selection page, select an option and click Next:
    • Generic JDBC Connection
    • Sybase ASA
    • Sybase ASE
    • Sybase Data Federation
    • Sybase IQ
  3. Enter a name and description for the connection profile, and click Next.

    Field Description
    Name Enter a unique and descriptive name for the connection profile.
    Description (Optional) Enter a profile description that helps you distinguish it from others.
    Auto-Connect at Startup (Optional) Connect automatically to the server (when it is started) and display its contents in Enterprise Explorer.
  4. Follow the instructions on the wizard pages to create the selected database connection profile.
