Troubleshooting Unwired Platform Uninstallation

After uninstalling Sybase Unwired Platform, the OpenDS Windows service is not removed.

After uninstalling Sybase Unwired Platform, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and look for the OpenDS service. If the OpenDS service is there, you must do one of the following:

When you reinstall Sybase Unwired Platform, make sure you install to the same folder you last installed in. This ensures that the existing OpenDS service is overwritten, instead of having a second OpenDS service installed.
Right after uninstalling, reinstall Sybase Unwired Platform again to the same folder and install only the server component. Then perform the uninstallation again.

If the OpenDs service is not removed during the uninstallation, and you do not follow one of the above procedures, then the next time you install Sybase Unwired Platform, a second OpenDS service will be installed (OpenDS-2). The OpenDS-2 service may fail to start, causing authentication to fail.
