Creating a Procedural Routine Object

Procedural Routine objects standardize actions performed by more than one application program.

When you create a procedural routine object, you enter the basic information about the SQL object, such as name, SQL dialect type, and comments. As you complete this information, the wizard dynamically generates the appropriate SQL code and displays it in the Preview window. Once you click Finish, the end result is a procedural object definition skeleton, which you can then edit.

  1. From the WorkSpace main menu, select File > New > Database Schema Object .
  2. Select the Database Server Type.
  3. Select the Connection Profile Name, or click Create to create a new one.
  4. Select the Database Name for which you want to create the procedural object.
  5. Select the wizard for the type of procedural object you want to create.
