Renaming a Default

Rename a database default to refer to the default by a different name.

Prerequisites

Before you rename a default, be sure the data server is running and that you created and established a connection to the data server.

  1. In the Databases folder in Enterprise Explorer, under the database connection profile, expand the Databases folder, and then expand the tree for a database and then the tree for the appropriate schema owner.
  2. Expand the Defaults folder, right-click the default, and choose Rename from the context menu.
  3. Enter a new name, and click OK.
Note: Do not use spaces in object names. Spaces could cause the renaming to fail.
