When the sysamcap SySAM utility cannot determine the Virtual Machine, SySAM needs to be told to check for the Virtual Machine by setting these environment variables:
Workaround: Set the VMware environment variable to: SYBASE_SAM_CPUINFO=VMCHECKVM.
Set the Xen environment to either variable:
SYBASE_SAM_CPUINFO=Xen, or
SYBASE_SAM_CPUINFO=XENCHECKXEN
