You can use the sql.ini file for Windows and the interfaces file for UNIX to provide server information for jConnect for JDBC. By using the sql.ini or interfaces file, enterprises can centralize the information about the services available in the enterprise networks, including for Adaptive Server.
Use the connection string to identify the sql.ini or interfaces file. On jConnect for JDBC, you can connect only to a single Directory Services URL (DSURL).
