The client application issues a request through the access service to the database.
When the client application issues a request; such as a select statement, the client application program interface (API) receives the request and sends it to the access service.
The access service receives the request, transforms it as specified in its configuration, and executes it.
After the request processes, the access service converts target datatypes to Open Server datatypes and returns the results to the client application.
The client application disconnects from the access service.
