Sybase software can back up data to any existing directory
on a mounted Windows volume.
- Select a volume that has enough free space to hold
the database.
- To place the database file in a new directory on
the volume, use the mkdir command to create the
directory.
- Start isql and connect to Adaptive
Server:
d:\sybase\bin> isql -Usa -Ppassword -Sserver_name
- Use the full drive, path, and file name designation
to name the dump device.
