After you install Replication Agent, but before you start it or run any Replication Agent utilities, set up the SYBASE environment variable on the Replication Agent host machine.
Set the value of %SYBASE% (Microsoft Windows) or $SYBASE (UNIX) to the
Replication Agent installation directory.
- Log in to the Replication Agent host machine using an
operating system user account with authority to start, stop, and
administer the Replication Agent instance (for example, the “sybase” user).
- At the command prompt, execute the SYBASE batch
or script file:

On Microsoft Windows:
c:\path\SYBASE.bat
where
path is the Sybase installation
directory, for example:
c:\sybase\SYBASE

On UNIX:
source path/SYBASE.csh
where
path is the Replication Agent installation directory.
