Before you can start a Replication Agent instance and connect
to the primary data server, you must set all required variables.
- Add the location of the JDBC driver
for the primary database to the CLASSPATH environment variable.

for the primary database and setting up Replication Agent connectivity.

If the default character set on the host machine on which your Replication
Agent is running is different from the one on your primary database, you need to
set the RA_JAVA_DFLT_CHARSET environment variable so it is the same as that of
the primary database.
