SQL Operators

These topics describe the arithmetic, string, and bitwise operators available in Sybase IQ.

The normal precedence of operations applies. Expressions in parentheses are evaluated first; then multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. String concatenation occurs after addition and subtraction.

  You can use these bitwise operators on all unscaled integer data types, in both Sybase IQ and Adaptive Server Enterprise.

  The Transact-SQL™ outer join operators *= and =* are supported in Sybase IQ, in addition to the ISO/ANSI SQL join syntax using a table expression in the FROM clause.
