On Windows, you can access the Registry directly using the Registry Editor.
To start the editor, select Start > Run and type in the Open box
regedt32
Read Only Mode protects your Registry data from accidental
changes. To use it, open the Registry Editor, select Edit >Permissions,
and then check Read permission.
