PowerDesigner provides default model checks to verify the validity of component instances.

Description and Correction

Name/Code contains terms not in glossary

[if glossary enabled] Names and codes must contain only approved terms drawn from the glossary.
  • Manual correction - Modify the name or code to contain only glossary terms.
  • Automatic correction - None.

Name/Code contains synonyms of glossary terms

[if glossary enabled] Names and codes must not contain synonyms of glossary terms.
  • Manual correction - Modify the name or code to contain only glossary terms.
  • Automatic correction - Replaces synonyms with their associated glossary terms.

Name/Code uniqueness

Object names must be unique in the namespace.
  • Manual correction - Modify the duplicate name or code.
  • Automatic correction - Appends a number to the duplicate name or code.

Component instance without component

An instance of a component has been created but no component is attached. You must attach it to a component.

  • Manual correction: Attach an existing component to the component instance, or create a component from the Create tool in the property sheet of the component instance

  • Automatic correction: None

Duplicate component instances

Several instances of the same component exist in the same node.

  • Manual correction: Delete the duplicate component instance or attach it to the right component

  • Automatic correction: None

Isolated component instance

A component instance should not be created outside of a node. It will not be deployed.

  • Manual correction: Attach it to a node

  • Automatic correction: None
