The Server Option, which is available for CICS, and IMS and native z/OS, uses Open Server architecture to allow the mainframe to act as a server. The DB2 UDB Options for CICS and IMS are Server Option applications. Together, they support the features described in this chapter.
The DB2 UDB Options for CICS and IMS use the Server Option connectivity for multiple protocols and for support and customization of character sets.
