The host request library is a DB2 table used for centrally storing SQL statements. This library makes the requests available to all DirectConnect for z/OS Option users.
The DB2 UDB Options for CICS and IMS retrieve the specified SQL request from the host request library and submit the request to DB2 UDB for processing. Then, DB2 UDB Options for CICS and IMS return the results of the request to the client application.
