Remote stored procedures (RSPs) are similar to RPCs, but they use the old MDI API, not the Server Option API. RSPs are normally invoked as language statements through the DirectConnect for z/OS Option DB2 access service.
To invoke an RSP as an RPC in a two-tier, gateway-less environment or through DirectConnect for z/OS Option Transaction Router Service, the user must alter the RSP code.
