Installation requires completing the following pre-installation tasks, which are explained in the following subsections. Skip the tasks that do not pertain to the options you have chosen to install.
1. Verify mainframe access components
2. Determine JCL and system information
3. Determine CICS and DB2 UDB information
4. Determine compiler information
5. Determine Server Option information
7. Plan the security requirements
8. Identify the change control requirements
9. Back up the release libraries (upgrades only)
10. Determine the library names
To determine whether any new release levels or bug fixes
of vendor or Sybase products are required, consult the Mainframe
Connect DB2 UDB Options for CICS and IMS Release Bulletin for
the most current information.
