If Adaptive Server was licensed using a per-processor license type in versions earlier than 15.7, the license quantity was determined at start-up.
Adaptive Server periodically checks the number of processors it can use and attempts to check out additional licenses for any increase. Adaptive Server shuts down after a 30-day grace period expires if additional licenses are not made available within this period.
