Upgrades and Downgrades Using Existing Directories

You can upgrade and downgrade Replication Serve if you install Replication Server into existing directories.

By default, the Replication Server installation process installs versions 15.5 to 15.7.1 SP100 in directories under the REP-15_5 directory. Sybase does not recommend installing and upgrading versions 15.5 to 15.7.1 SP100 using existing directories containing any of preupgrade versions 15.5 to 15.7.1 SP100. You must back up the files and directories of the preupgrade version of Replication Server before you install the new version of Replication Server in the same directories as the current version of Replication Server.

The procedures in Upgrading Using Existing Directories and Downgrading to an Earlier Version in Existing Directories only apply between Replication Server versions:

15.6 and 15.7
