Configuration File

The configuration file is a plain text file that contains definitions for ECDA Option for Oracle. It is located in <install_dir>/DCO-15_0/install for UNIX, or C:\<install_dir>\DCO-15_0\install for Windows.

The configuration file must have the same name as the ECDA Option for Oracle server name as defined in the interfaces file for UNIX, or the sql.ini file for Windows. For example, if the server name of the ECDA Option for Oracle in the interfaces file is ORACLEDC, the configuration file name is ORACLEDC.cfg. The name of the configuration file is case-sensitive.

Configuration File Characteristics

  • A single configuration file for an instance of ECDA Option for Oracle can define one or more services.

  • One of the service names must be the same as the server name you selected. All global parameters are defined under the server name heading, which is also the name of your configuration file.

  • In the configuration file, lines beginning with semicolons are comments and are ignored by the server.

  • Service names are enclosed in square brackets.
