When you are creating a three-tier environment, you must connect to an RMS server.
In this environment, you must edit the interfaces file or the sql.ini file (Windows) with the host name, port number, and server name. You can edit this file using a text editor or the dsedit utility. You can use the same interfaces file that the other servers in the replication environment use.
RM does not need an entry in the interfaces file for RMS. You can provide the host name and port number of RMS directly to RM. The servers that are managed by RMS must be in the RMS interfaces file.
