Choosing default and nondefault devices

sp_diskdefault lets you plan space usage for performance and recovery, while allowing users to create or alter databases.

Do not use these devices as default devices:

You can use the device that holds sybsystemprocs for other user databases.

NoteIf you are using disk mirroring or segments, exercise caution in deciding which devices you add to the default list. In most cases, devices that are to be mirrored, or databases that contain objects placed on segments should specifically allocate devices, rather than being made part of default storage.
