Perform this step only if you use more than the default number of database devices. Otherwise, go to “Restarting Adaptive Server in master-recover mode”.
Configuration values are unavailable to Adaptive Server until after recovery of the master database, so instruct Adaptive Server to read the appropriate value for the number of devices parameter from a configuration file at start-up.
If your most recent configuration file is unavailable, edit a configuration file to reflect the correct value for the number of devices parameter.
Edit the runserver file. Add the -c parameter to the end of the dataserver or sqlsrver command, specifying the name and location of the configuration file. When Adaptive Server starts, it reads the parameter values from the specified configuration file.
