With the introduction of Unilib library-based conversion, the Sybase’s internal table-driven conversion process is eliminated. You can no longer use conversion modes such as MATCH, BESTGUESS, and MNEMONIC that applied to table-driven conversion.
In this version, you can convert to other character sets using any of these methods:
Unicode using the Unicode Infrastructure Library (Unilib)
User-defined character set conversion routine (using cs_manage_convert)
