Adding a Server to the Directory Service

Use the dsedit directory service editor utility to add a server to the directory service.

1. From Windows, select Start > Programs > Sybase > Connectivity > Open Client Directory Service Editor.
2. Select LDAP from the list of servers, and click OK.
3. Click Add New Server Entry.
4. Enter:
   • Server name – this is required.
   • (Optional) Security mechanism – there is a list of security mechanism OIDs in %SYBASE%\ini\objectid.dat.
5. Click Add New Network Transport:
   1. Select the transport type
   2. Enter the host name
   3. Enter the port number
6. Click OK twice to exit the dsedit utility.
