Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is a standard API that allows
a single application to access a variety of data sources through
ODBC–compliant drivers.
ODBC Conformance
ODBC drivers manufactured by different vendors may vary widely in the functions they provide. Sybase IQ supports ODBC 3.5.2.
Installing ODBC Drivers
The Sybase IQ 32-bit ODBC driver is installed as part of the Network Client.
Creating an ODBC Data Source
On a UNIX-like operating systems, ODBC data sources are stored in .odbc.ini. Use a text editor to update this file manually, or use the cross–platform iqdsn utility to create an ODBC data source. On Windows, use ODBC Administrator to add a new ODBC data source.
